ABOUT US

Hi, I'm Mark, the Chairman of the 10th Oxford Scout Group.

We're a friendly Group in the Oxford Spires Scout District and we meet in the largest Scout Hall in Oxford.

Our aim is to provide youth members of The Scout Association with the opportunity of learning and growing in an inclusive environment, helping them to become better members of society and a better 'team-player' in the world they are growing into.

We believe all children deserve a great start in life, so that's what we at the 10th aim to provide.

The Leadership Teams provide exctiing activities that are not only challenging and stimulating, but aim to have a positive impact on the young people's futures. We do not instruct the young people, but give them the building blocks they need to educate themselves to build the future they want and deserve.

Membership is at an all time high, with nearly 100 young people and 23 regular adult supporters/Leaders, making us one of the largest Groups in the District!

Can you spare a few hours a year? If so, please Contact Us. We're in desperate need of extra support in the Scout Section at the moment. You don't need to be superman (or woman), but you'll need to have a sense of humour. With a new Scout Leader in place, these are exciting times, but he can't do it alone. I'd love to hear from you!

There's no better time to join the adventure and it doesn't matter whether your child is of joining age yet or not because by using the form on the Contact page, you can sign them up early and ensure they are allocated a place when it becomes available.

The Headquarters were refurbished a couple of years ago as well so can now be hired by local Community Users. Again, please send all enquiries to us via the Contact page.

I could keep going on about how great we are, but there's not enough space, and besides, you're here to look round, so what are you waiting for?

I hope to see you at the hall or an event soon. Thanks for stopping by our website.

"All you have to do is look at the children to know they're having an adventure and enjoying themselves. There's always new things for them to do. Mind you, there's plenty for us Leaders and supporters to do too!"
